Entertainment
Whether you are sailing to the Far East or to Alaska, you will never be short of things to do on Diamond Princess. During the day there are various enrichment classes held, featuring a number of different topics including wine tasting and photography, as well as discussions and presentations by guest speakers on specialist subjects such as politics and history. Evenings are spent doing as little or as much as you like, with a wonderful range of shows, live music and other entertainment available. Head to the glitzy Grand Casino if you fancy trying your luck on the many slot machines and table games, including poker and roulette, or enjoy one of the fantastic productions shows in the Princess Theatre, performed by the ship's troupe of singers and dancers. For great music and a night of dancing, you can choose between futuristic nightclub Skywalkers, cabaret lounge Club Fusion, or the sociable Explorers Lounge.Trivia
Diamond Princess is the first of two ships that were built in Japan. Along with sister ship Sapphire Princess, Diamond Princess was built by Mitsubishi in their shipyard in Nagasaki, whereas the majority of the other ships in the Princess fleet were built by the well-known Fincantieri shipyard in Italy.Health and Fitness
The Lotus Spa is a haven for relaxation and no matter how long you spend here you are sure to leave feeling refreshed and revitalised. Within the spa you will find a number of sea-view treatment rooms, all offering a variety of different therapies and treatments, from traditional massages and facials to seaweed body wraps and acupuncture. Also within the spa are steam rooms, saunas, and an outdoor swim-against-the-current pool. Above the spa is the Sanctuary, an adults-only retreat where you can enjoy a relaxing massage under one of the cabanas, rent MP3 players that are pre-loaded with calming music or just enjoy the peace and quiet away from the lively pool areas.Children's Facilities
The dedicated children's clubs on board Diamond Princess are open throughout the day and are supervised by the ship's fully trained youth workers. Each club is split in to various age groups ranging from 3 - 17 years old with age appropriate activities and facilities to suit. The Funzone is for children aged 3 - 12 which has a huge indoor playroom, an outdoor play area with a splash pool, and activities include art lessons, craft making, treasure hunts, quizzes and sports. Teenagers won't feel left out either as they have the Teen Centre where they can take part in sports tournaments, listen to music, join in with talent contests and play video games. International and Vivaldi Dining Rooms - Fixed Seating Dining
The International and Vivaldi Dining Rooms offer fixed seating dining with waiter service for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurants are usually open for breakfast between 7am and 9am, and 12pm - 1.45pm for lunch. Dinner is served across three sittings at 5.30pm, 6pm and 8.15pm, and you will have the same table reserved for the duration of your cruise.Pacific Moon, Savoy and Santa Fe Dining Rooms - Anytime Dining
These restaurants all offer anytime dining with waiter service for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is usually available between 7.30am and 9am, and lunch is available from 12.15pm until 1.45pm. For dinner you just need to arrive anytime between 6pm and 9.30pm and you will be seated. You can choose to sit at a different table with different people each night if you want to.Signature Dining
Sabatini's - Speciality Italian Restaurant
Sabatini's is an authentic Italian restaurant offering a wide range of traditional dishes with a modern day twist. You will find classic dishes such as lasagne and ravioli, as well as speciality seafood. The restaurant is open for dinner and has a cover charge of approx $20 per adult and $10 per child to dine here. As it is a speciality restaurant it is advisable to make a reservation in advance.Sterling Steakhouse - Speciality Steak Restaurant
The Sterling Steakhouse is always popular and offers a great variety of different beef cuts including filet mignon and New York steak, all cooked to your specific taste. The restaurant is open for dinner and there is a cover charge of approx $15 per person to dine here.
