Cruise Development Manager

I spend much of my day writing information for the website, like the ship descriptions and the cruise line information. I also keep in regular contact with the cruise lines so that we have all the up-to-date information and deals available, as well as speaking to new cruise lines that we want to work with. I'm a bit of a cruise nerd, so generally any cruise related questions come to me and I do my best to help! (I also wrote the job descriptions below)

Chris Clarkson

Managing Director

Chris spends most of his day, grappling with all the different port codes, cabin grades, cruise deals, offers and pricing codes that the cruise lines have. Chris also deals with the marketing, so he makes sure we crop up in all the right places online and in the press. Working with Alan, they decide which features to add to the website and ensure everything is working as it should.

Alan Gilmour

Technical Director

Alan is in charge of all things technical, so he's responsible for building, maintaining and keeping the website running smoothly. Alan and his team have painstakingly crafted all the cool features of the site making them work across each of the different cruise-lines and is currently working hard adding more cruise-lines, which you'll see on the site soon!

Building Bon Voyage

"Don't be silly, you can't sell cruises online."  Well that's what we were told back in 2008 when we first turned our eyes to building a cruise holiday website. Three years on now and we beg to differ. While cruise lines and other travel agents websites have made progress in those three years, Bon Voyage is the first to offer online booking of every cruise you find on the site.

When we started developing the site, our research showed that you, the cruise customer were happy to book cruises online, however current cruise websites make that very difficult and more often than not you would encounter "CALL US".

We wanted to make a simple booking process, that provided the same level of information and choice as you would get sitting across a desk from a travel agent. That meant being able to let you choose everything right down to your cabin number. So that's what we've built.

Who are we? - Bon Voyage is the sister company of sunshine.co.uk and has the same vital key team members behind it.

"The big idea behind sunshine was a simple one. If low-cost airlines can work, so can a low-cost travel agent."

In 2007, we started sunshine.co.uk so we could sell amazing holidays as cheaply as possible. We cut the costs by only selling holidays online (and passing on the savings to you). This has worked so successfully that we have applied a similar thinking to Bon Voyage.

We wanted to make something that helped consumers - the 'sunshine way' has opened our eyes to how simple the whole online experience can be and that's exactly what we have done with Bon Voyage. It needn't be complicated, confusing or stressful - all of the booking process can be done online - from your initial cruise holiday search to selecting your cabin number.

We can keep our costs low as we don't spend money on expensive advertising or sales staff, and we look after our customers so well that word-of-mouth does the rest. We want to sell you and your family the best possible holidays at the lowest possible prices. If we do that, we hope that you'll tell your friends (this helps push our prices even lower). And if we fall short, we want to hear from you - we'll do what we can to put it right.
